News, Competitions and Fishing Reports

The fishery will be open daily from 8.30am until 5pm.

Chatton Lake is fully booked on Saturday 25th February - Ross Lake and Dunnydeer Lake will be open as normal.

The final heat of the winter competition last Sunday resulted in the following qualifiers for the final to be held this coming Saturday: Andy Richmond, Jim Tuck, Stewart Younger, Tracey Davison, Peter Matthews and Willie Crombie. 21 people fished, there were 45 fish caught with a rod average of 2.1 fish.

24 rods have qualified for the final this Saturday with a prize fund of £1200.

We are now stocking twice weekly due to being quieter over the winter months.

FISHING REPORT - Week ending Sat 18th February, 2012

Milder weather has meant that all lakes are open and have fished quite well. The main successes have been on black and green lures, orange lures and cat's whiskers although there have been some good catches on natural flies.

Fishing slowly on floating lines with weighted lures or sinking lines have produced results.

Jim Tuck from Ashington had 12 fish on lures.
J Taylor from Hazelrigg caught 10 on an orange blob.
Len Broxson of Tanfield took 8 fish on fritz lures.
R Wallace form Hawick caught 10 fish on lures.
J Bales from Wooler took 7 fish on an orange goldhead.
T Snowden caught 7 trout on Cat's Whiskers.
M Devine of Hadston released 18 fish using various patterns including bloodworm and Diawl Bach. These included a fish of about 12lb caught on Ross Lake and two of at least 5 lb caught on Dunnydeer.

We have two aerators situated on Chatton Lake this winter which will ensure the lake will always be ice free.

Photographs can be seen in our Gallery.
